This weeks Próxima Jornada Player of the Week goes to SC Braga’s Francisco Trincão after his inspired performance against Portimonense on Friday!

This was Braga’s first match under new manager Cústodio following Rúben Amorim’s departure to Sporting CP and Trincão wasted no time in showing his new manager exactly what he is capable of.
He opened the scoring after 31 minutes after some great work down the left by Paulinho, a well-timed cut back into Trincão’s path and a simple finish by the 20 year old put Braga ahead.

Trincão then turned provider for Braga’s third, he marauded forward down the right hand side before expertly putting in a low cross which evaded everyone until it reached Ricardo Horta to put home and put Braga 3-0 up, ensuring all 3 points.
You can watch short highlights of Braga’s match and Trincão’s performance below courtesy of VSports.
However it wasn’t just his 2 goal contributions which set him apart, it was his overall performance. He was a constant attacking threat on the right side of Braga’s attack. He completed 4 dribbles, more than any other player, won 6 of his 9 ground duels, played 1 key pass and made 1 tackle. It was a totally dominant attacking display by the man who is really coming into some serious form. In his last 5 games in all competitions, he has 3 goals and 2 assists and is demonstrating his capability that made FC Barcelona purchase him ahead of next season.
He is fresh off the back of winning both the Player of the Month and Young Player of the Month in Liga NOS and if he keeps up this kind of performance, he could be in with a shout for March’s award also. Congratulations Francisco!
