The European Golden Boy top 100 shortlist was released today by TuttoSport and features a host of Portuguese and Liga NOS talents.
The award was first launched in 2003 by the Italian TuttoSport, the winner of the inaugural prize was Rafael Van Der Vaart. Several newspapers across Europe also participate in the voting, ABola is Portugal’s representative.
Portugal has experienced glory in this award before, just last year the winner was João Félix after his breakthrough season at SL Benfica and subsquent move to Atlético de Madrid.
Rewind a few years before that and you have another Portuguese winner in the form of Renato Sanches in 2016. Each year there are plenty of both Portuguese natives nominated and also players playing in Liga NOS.
