Bernardo Silva’s involvement in yesterday’s clash between Manchester City and Southampton meant that he became the ninth Portuguese player to reach a century of appearances in England’s top flight.

Luis Boa Morte tops the list with both the most appearances and most clubs played for by a Portuguese player. He racked up 296 approaches for four clubs (West Ham, Fulham, Arsenal and Southampton)

Cristiano Ronaldo comes in at second with 196, a whopping 100 less than Boa Morte, all of his coming for his spell with Manchester United.
Full list:
Luis Boa Morte – 296 appearances (West Ham, Fulham, Arsenal & Southampton) Cristiano Ronaldo – 196 appearances (Man Utd) José Fonte – 178 appearances (West Ham & Southampton) Nani – 147 appearances (Man United) Paulo Ferreira – 141 appearances (Chelsea) Ricardo Carvalho – 135 appearances (Chelsea) Cédric Soares – 122 appearances (Southampton & Arsenal) José Bosingwa – 112 appearances (Chelsea & QPR) Bernardo Silva – 100 appearances (Man City)

What players could we see join this list in the not too distant future? Many of Wolves’ contingent will surely reach the century club provided they are still at Wolves next season. João Moutinho has 71 appearances, Rui Patricio has 70 and Rúben Neves has 68 appearances.
Would love to see the Wolves contingent get there, that’d mean their time there was successful!
