Despite there being no Portuguese teams left in this seasons edition of the UEFA Europa League, there is still serious Portuguese involvement in the competition in the form of both players and management.
Shakhtar or Wolfsburg v Basel or Frankfurt
Shakhtar Donestk, currently under the management of Luís Castro have recently won the Ukrainian Premier League and take into their clash a healthy 2-1 away victory over Bundseliga side Wolfsburg. Eintracht Frankfurt are blessed with Portuguese firepower in the form of the red hot André Silva and Gonçalo Paciência who has recently returned from injury, they have a 3-0 defeat to overturn v Basel, will be a gargantuan but not impossible task.

Manchester United or LASK v Copenhagen or Basaksehir
The impact of Bruno Fernandes is impossible to dismiss, both in Europa League and Premier League he has made a huge difference to Ole’s men and will be looking to get his first piece of silverware as a Manchester United man. He’s got 6 goals and 4 assists in 8 appearances this season in the Europa League for both SCP and United.

Wolves or Olympiacos v Roma or Sevilla
Lots of Portuguese involvement in these matchups! Of the four sides, three have Portuguese managers. Nuno at Wolves, Paulo Fonseca at AS Roma and Pedro Martins at Olympiacos. Nuno’s Wolves who are stacked with Portuguese talent are currently tied at 1-1 on aggregate with Martíns Olympiacos, who have José Sá, Rúben Semedo and Cafú amongst the ranks. Paulo Fonseca’s AS Roma take on Sevilla who have ex-Monaco winger Rony Lopes.
