
When Estoril Praia eliminated three different Primeira Liga sides from the Taça de Portugal en route to the semi-finals, it was clear to see that Bruno Pinheiro’s men belonged in the Portuguese top flight. Sure enough, Estoril won the Segunda Liga, winning 20 of their 34 games and gained promotion to the top flight in the process. Supporters of the Canarinhos were in dreamland, finally back in the Primeira after three seasons in the second division.

Fast forward to today, Estoril are currently fifth in the Primeira Liga, behind only Porto, Sporting, Benfica and Braga and the Cascais outfit are well in the hunt for a European place. One player who has been present during their resurgence is 23-year-old midfielder Rosier Loreintz. He’s quickly racked up over 50 appearances for Estoril since joining from Vitória SC, including scoring a 90th-minute equaliser against Benfica this season.
Aaron Barton caught up with the Frenchman to discuss everything from what it means to be a professional, the impact Bruno Pinheiro has had on him, his experiences in football so far and what his aspirations are for the future!
