Henrique Araújo
The Benfica striker has been heavily linked to a loan move to English Championship club Watford in the last 24 hours. The Telegraph (United Kingdom) recently reported that the deal for the 20-year-old forward is close. Araújo was voted the 2021/22 Young Player of the Season in the Segunda Liga after a superb campaign that saw him score 13 goals and provide six assists in 26 matches for Benfica B. This year he has struggled for minutes in the first team, making just five appearances in the Primeira Liga totalling 65 minutes. Watford are currently third in the Championship and are pushing for promotion to the Premier League.
This move could give Araújo much-needed game time and a chance to impress in a competitive league.
Fábio Silva
Silva has been left out of the Anderlecht matchday squad ahead of their match against Zulte Waregem amidst speculation that he will be joining another team on loan. The 20-year-old is Anderlecht’s top scorer in the league with seven goals. Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has claimed that PSV are the favourites to secure Silva’s services in the second half of the season. HLN Sport (Belgium) are reporting that Silva has had an argument with manager Brian Riemer and has asked to leave.

Raphaël Guerreiro
Portugal international Raphaël Guerreiro is on the radar of Ligue 1 club OGC Nice according to RMC Sport and L’Equipe (France). The 29-year-old has been a fantastic servant to Borussia Dortmund, scoring 37 goals and providing 39 assists across 206 games. Guerriero’s contract with the Bundesliga outfit is up at the end of the season.
Nicolás Otamendi
River Plate’s interest in Benfica defender Nico Otamendi has hardly been a secret but it’s very much public now. River president Jorge Pablo Brito spoke to ESPN and confirmed the club’s interest in the World Cup winner, saying: “We are looking towards Otamendi, he has six months left on his Benfica contract and we will do everything possible to see him in a River Plate shirt”.

Pizzi
Former Portugal international Pizzi could be making his return to Portuguese football. According to Foot Mercato (France) and ABOLA (Portugal), Estoril Praia are rumoured to be interested in signing the 33-year-old who currently plays for UAE club Al Wahda. Pizzi played 278 games in the Portuguese top flight across his time with Paços de Ferreira, SC Braga and SL Benfica. Bruno Andrade has reported that SC Braga could rival Estoril for Pizzi’s signature.
